Since Lunar Fox is brand new, we wanted to share some of the projects that we're already working on. Today I'll be showcasing the work we're doing on a science fiction graphic novel that we'll be taking to a crowd funding site in the future.
I started this project in Fall 2014, and was working on it a long time before it started to take shape. Thankfully this year the story elements finally began to fall into place, and before I knew it, I had a solid working draft sitting in front of me. As edits continue to happen while we work on concept art, I'm thankful to have Dave Barr at my side. David is a master storyteller and artist who has come on board as a freelance concept artist and co-author of this story.
In our story, we follow a terminally ill young man that is taken from present day Earth by a political group known as the Atherian Dynasty, who control most of the known galaxy. They've been harvesting sick people from under-developed planets for years to be contracted into a cheap labor program. Their memories are altered to make them more compliant and alien biotech is used to keep them alive.
Before our young protagonist can make it to a processing facility on Daeolith Prime, his transport crashes. Among the wreckage he meets a young female Atherian pilot, and before long dark secrets about the program start to emerge that put both of them in danger. The challenges ahead will change both of them forever.
With most of the writing done, the real challenge in front of us is building a world for our story to breathe in. We're starting from scratch coming up with animals, plants, technology, and architecture to give this universe a unique setting. We're only sharing a small amount of the concept work we have available so that you can get an idea for my visual style and some of the exciting things to come without spoiling any of the exciting plot details.
Even though we have a long way to go, we can't wait to share the finished product with you. Make sure to check back in for updates on this project, as well as others that we're currently working on.
